Dear Friend,
While the world is technologically advanced and materially rich, it is still very poor. Society is in dire need of artists, musicians, writers and thinkers to shape and build our next generation. Without enough importance given to the arts, the rich become poor and the poor become blind, deaf and dumb. It is with the understanding and expression of life through arts that our emotional intelligence and happiness is secured. It is time that we give artistes an important place in the structure of society.
Whatever career or vocation a person chooses for his / her life, an education and exposure to the arts cannot be neglected. It is time that art ceases to be just an ornament. It should be an essential in the life of an individual. While the privileged have access to some training in the arts, a huge number of our nation’s potential talent dwelling in the poor and under-served communities do not.
LAMP Trust exists to impact the lives of individuals through the promotion of Music and the Arts – Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts – to enable us build the intellectual, emotional, cultural, economic and political capital of our people.
Our educational objective is to expose children and adults to Indian and International Music, Art, & Literature and thereby inspire & motivate them to take up learning of a musical instrument, to sing and to express themselves through art and literature. This will include educative workshops & concerts.
Our institutional objective is to raise awareness and resources to set up the LAMP World Cultural Centre in Gurgaon, National Capital Region, India to promote the Arts – Performing Art, Visual Art, Literary Art. LAMP will also make resources available towards skill & talent development for the poor & under-served communities.
LAMP’s long term focus is on raising world-class creative talent by building world-class inter-disciplinary creative and performing arts’ training and educational institutions. This will enable skill & talent development across the nation’s socio-economic strata. Such centres of excellence will be one of the keys to unlocking the potential of India in the Arts sector in the coming years.
LAMP Trust has successfully conceptualised and implemented projects and events which have received wide publicity and have resonated very much with society. Please click on the web links below to know more about these projects:
